Risen Christ Lutheran School Library
Library Beginnings
Our Risen Christ Lutheran School Library began thanks to Floyd Dickman, who was associated with the Mazza Children’s Literature Center at The University of Findlay. After a few Risen Christ Lutheran Church members participated in a mock Caldecott Winner event in 2013, Floyd contacted the school and granted $800.00 worth of books to the school and volunteered to come to Springfield to give a book talk to the teachers. Floyd continued to send boxes of new books to Risen Christ until his passing in 2017. Through these generous donations, Risen Christ School was able to create a self-sustaining school library of over one thousand books. Gary Hale, a Risen Christ member, built the beautiful bookcases.
